Mutatis mutandis.
I had my last full day of work today; tomorrow I’ve got a lot of meetings and a goodbye lunch, so I’ll only be getting in a few hours of quality work. It will be very strange to walk away from the code that I’ve been tending for the past few years. There’s one final bug that I want to hammer down before I go, as a matter of personal pride.

I hope you hammer the bug. If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to treat everything like a nail (or a bug in this case).
Wishing you the best in the next chapter of your journey through life.

Thank you. I did manage to get the bug, along with the three more I had waiting for me this morning. It felt good to leave the code with the fixes in place.
It is strange to think that I’ll never work with this code again; I’ve spent nearly three years developing and maintaining it.
