Still bodies of water are so lovely. I spent some time at my fiancée’s parents’ lakehouse outside Montgomery yesterday. I got up in time in the morning to see the mist/fog roll off the placid lake (which was annoyingly disturbed by a bass fisherman in a motorboat). It was almost disturbing how quiet it was there, since most lakes I’ve spent time at have been up north (in Michigan and Canada) and loons tend to break the morning silence there.
The pink noise of running water is relaxing in a different way, and I think that I might like to have some semblence of that when Mel and I wed under the chuppah here in the States–it won’t be appropriate for the second (Buddhist) ceremony we’re having in Thailand, of course.
